In awe of you...

As i am walking on
the Moon smiled at me with a crescent-face
as the breeze air cool me
i started pondering

The rustling of leaves
broke my silence
as i looked back
i saw you walking past

When the leaves withering
so did my hope
when the whirlwinds carried me away
i was lost far away

You stood there awe-inspiring
with a radiant face
you took the path less-travelled
with determination and perseverance

As we saw the snail
finding its way through the woods
you said to me
i am born to win

If anything i would die for
your company all my life
if everything i wish ever
to step into your shoes

As often as i think you
my eyes are welling
in gratitude in love
with overwhelming feelings of admiration

Happy birthday Ma.

Disruptive Corruption!

As the uprising of the people across the India and overseas won the battle against corruption, what it means for a commoner? Everyday when you see the bus conductor not issuing (refusing) ticket for the next bus stop, when there is no bill issued for photocopies taken in college, when the repeated calls to attend the sanitary line is left to stinking - all these are fangs of corruption and heights of inordinate morals and delays calling for public accountability and being conscientious. Are not they?

We have a long go for a conscientious Indian, especially in the government sector. Every time you step into a government office, you know how the offices work, deliver things and its transparency level.  And the people mind has either ingratiated or buy things for money including jobs! If the system is totally rotten, its people who are equally blamable too!  People who do not know - what to do, lack of awareness and knowledge, whom to approach etc end up involving middlemen or paying bribes for getting the work done. The ordeals that you go through when you end up with government officials for getting a certificate issued is the most deplorable!

These should change, if this has to change, we the people should not take and give bribes, whatever may come! I stand for formative, upright and righteous nation, do you!

Great Pillars To Lean On!

When life was hopeless
It was my blight
When I am helpless
It became my plight!

When avalanches of life took over
Nobody dared to care
The tribulations were everywhere
To protect me nowhere

As I lay motionless
I looked out for light!
To lit my life fearless
Keeping it to be bright!

As I was crying
With problems untold
Why it had happened?
If at all to me alone!

As I started to feel numb
It seemed it is end
My life is stumped
Right here upend

As the days passed by
I was groaning
As the tears rolled by
I heard a soothing voice

As I lay bemoaning
I saw your face like fire!
When I struggled to open my eyes
You took me on your hands!

When you looked at me
I sensed your grace
When you embraced me
I felt your warmth!

When you stroke my hair
I am no longer in despair!
When you healed my wounds
You nursed it with affection!

When you bound me with cords of love
I would not have felt anything better
When you kissed at my forehead
All my troubles flew away overhead

All I am today you provided for
Completely unexpected!
How would I go astray
While I think of you all day long!

The world had sidestepped me
Forced it was meant to be
But you made me to stand out with poise
To rise above with fortitude!

When I was wretched
You came to me stretched
You allayed my fears
There are no more tears

I think of you in gratitude
However, high I may go in altitude
You made my life certitude
And it became my attitude!

I would not ask anything else
But you nearby all time along!
I wish to take after you forever
To be compassionate as you are!

I bow down
In front of God for you
When I look up
I plead to bless you

Bundesrepublik Deutschland Visit

An amazing experience to visit Germany, really.  The places, architecture, landscapes and libraries are so spellbinding. Of the many places I paid visit -  PanoramaPunkt, Museum island, Potsdam, Garden of the World, Schloss Charlottenburg, Story of Berlin, Reichstag and universities – Free, Humboldt, Parliamentary and Technical  University Libraries struck you awe-inspiring.

What's surprising more the importance of libraries play in the country: the infrastructure of libraries, cooperation and resource sharing are terribly awesome. The warmth and brotherhood among librarians is something that we should learn, which I observed in the 100. German Library Association conference.  What's impressing more the attention and courtesy of people, the governance of institutions and organizations and cleanliness of public places. Social security for all, senior centres for elderly people and law enforcement are exceptionally good.  Public transportation is well-planned that you don't get in longer traffics, and modes of transportation also keep people comfortably moving without chaos. The project work combined with the German language classes helped to learn the language easier.

With weather not playing spoil-sport it was warm enough in Spring to go-around, walk up and take pictures in all the locales i put my foot. At the end of the visit, the summer brought in with all warmness amid the cool nights.

It was hard to say bye to the country.  And hopefully looking forward to tread the soil of that part of world again!

Aeugst am Albis, Switzerland

After nearly 15 hours of journey, the pristine, beautiful country Switzerland has been a great nation of paradise. Snow-capped mountains, clean and tidy places, beautiful cattle, wonderful landscapes, serene mountains and secluded places make it a nice place to long for and live in.

Near the Lac de Neuchatel there was a beautiful, spectucular fire fighters brigade from various locations. The autobahn has been smooth, and traveling is less chaotic in trains.  With sunny weather around, the days were very good and enjoyable. I liked the green lush pastures, and cows very much that they yield not less then 7 to 14 liters each when i visited a farmer's house. And how i observed the government servants are closely liaising for the people! On the boat in Lake Zug there was a Swiss Army music band performing instrument music, a good entertainment.

Mount Rigi, Lake Zug, Zurich, Geneve, Rolle, Trin are the various places I said hello during my stay.  I am very fortunate to be there, as there were days in my life when I wondered, if at all possible to make it.  There are so many differences between India and European countries, the automated way of living and well-organized culture are pertinent to note.  Thanks to my sponsors.  Hope you would see the pictures in my Facebook.

Have a good time!

AN ANGEL OF LIFE...

The waters were tumultuous
Lights were twinkling
The waves were engulfing
As we remained blinking

Sorrows were hemming in
Nobody was hearing our pleas
Misery was all around

Was it the end of life

Sun was let go down
Life stood wretched
The boat of life in toss
When our soul in loss

Then you appeared
Like an angel from heaven
When we opened eyes to see you
It couldn't be better

When we were crying
You've wiped our tears
When we were falling
You were there to lean on

As the days dawning
Your face was gleaming
When we afraid to let go of fearing
You shone like a bright star

When our spirits dying down
Shining like a floodlight, you lifted us up
You had lit our lives
Our hope for lives is never burned up

When you held our hands
We wish always that it meant to be

Give us a warm hug
To be lasting forever in your warmth

A Godsend angel on our way
Your prayers were always a boon
Such an consolation
In times of affliction and desolation

We are always indebted
With gratefulness etched in our memories
Expressed through our hearts
O, how grateful we are, though!

Elections in 2011

Freebies and Political Parties

With the dust swirling in the air for political parties for electioneering, the manifestos badly reflect the lack of long-development of states of India. We don't need no more freebies, we need the good governance combined with farsightedness. Please don't make us lazier with your freebies and we don't want creating endowments with your family-owned money, giving freebies for garnering votebanks all we need is the duties you have to perform as a responsible politician living up to the mark.

In the name of freebies we are already spoilt enough. See the free televisions distributed in Tamil Nadu. Even in-laws in the family to whole families have 2 to 3 TVs now. Community toilets, public libraries, upgrading primary schools to higher level, promoting research in language development, transparency in administration are need of the hour. What irritates more when you see the channels boasting that under this so-called "government rule" the state was shining and progressed!  The ground reality can be seen if you visit the nearby primary-school infrastructure, the cleaniless of public convenience, working conditions of public library and this list is of course endless! There needs to be a desensitisation as to performance NOT MONEY matters must be carried out among the general public. This is one of the crucial area that people are failing for years not choosing the person who would deliver for them!

Dynastic politics, indifferent attitudes, coalition powers, mushrooming political parties and divisions are often give a backseat in development not progress. Although Electoral officials are doing a good job through electronic media in 2011, this elections are to be watched as to how far the law enforcement is maintained where cash-prone votes are dominant.
